Pakistan Pavilion at World Expo 2020

My colleagues and I were responsible for curating our national Pavilion at the World Expo in 2021, the award-winning Pakistan Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020. The Pavilion, purpose made across 33,000 SQ FT was curated as a multi-sensory journey that leveraged the language of contemporary art, accompanied by craft traditions and national artifacts of Pakistan to tell the 5000+ year history of the country, along with its best hope for the future.

We created 8 immersive spaces featuring 37 multi-sensory installations, including 21 original films, commissioning over 145 of Pakistan's finest filmmakers, artists, master craftsmen and academics to contribute work to the Pavilion. In additional to the physical Pavilion, there was also a robust 6-month programming calendar curated to cater to the international visitors at the Expo.

The Pavilion was awarded the silver award from amongst 192 participating countries.
